KARAPARAMBA - CALICUT-10 - KERALA (INDIA)
Navajyothi Charitable Trust is a registered non-profit organization, formed with the main objective of serving the unfortunate mentally retarded children by providing vocational training for them and creating employment opportunity to enable them to stand on their own feet, without becoming a burden on their family and society.
To realise our dreams and wishes, we have started a special school in Calicut for the mentally retarded children. The school is giving scientific training to the students, and at present we have 9 specially trained teachers, 3 ayahs and 3 cooks at this school. Most of the students are brought to the school and back home in the school vehicles. Milk, Snacks and Lunch are provided at the school. Services of Paediatrician, Child Psychiatrist, Physiotherapist and Speech Therapist also are available. All the services at the centre are absolutely free.
The functioning of the school requires financial support and manual assistance from benevolent philanthropists. Our only strength now is the sincere devotion of our spirited young volunteers and the moral backing of our esteemed well-wishers. So, we wish to request the patronage, help and guidance of all the good-hearted people to make our venture fruitful.
At present Prasanthi School For Children With Special Needs is functioning in an old building at Karaparamba in Calicut. The total area of the compound is less than 25 cents and the total floor area of the building is less than 1000 sq. ft. To impart scientific training to the mentally challenged children, adequate space for class room training, speech therapy, physiotherapy, yoga therapy, indoor games and outdoor games is essential. Facility for residential training also is highly needed. To meet all these requirements, there is no way but to purchase adequate land for the project and to build own building. It is with this aim, Navajyothi Charitable Trust is planning to buy not less than 1 acre of land in the suburbs of Calicut and construct a building with sufficient floor area. The total estimated cost of the project will be around Rs.770,000/-.
Since Navajyothi Charitable Trust is not in receipt of any financial aid from Government or other corporate agencies, we depend entirely on the goodwill of benevolent, kind- hearted people to fulfil our dream of having an own campus for Prasanthi Schools.
Hence, we request all our well-wishers to generously contribute to this noble cause, which will help the poor unfortunate children of our Society.
The day-to-day functioning of the School is made possible by the magnanimity of a few kind-hearted people who are sponsoring the various needs of the students. Unfortunately, due to severe financial restraints, we are helpless to serve all the really needy. In this predicament, we look forward for help and assistance from all corners. If you feel that Navajyothi is a humanitarian venture and the mission it has undertaken is a noble one, kindly extend a helping hand. In case you wish to sponsor any items, you can choose an appropriate category from the list given below and inform us accordingly.
